Dietlind's First Friday Opening

Dietlind is an artist who also models for South Street Linen. We have been working together for 6 months and she is a joy to work with. The show at Vestibule 594 may be the smallest gallery in Maine, is a great warm space and as a plus you can also see almost all the work from the side walk!

American Sign Museum, Cincinnati, OH

On a scouting trip to Cincinnati in February I stopped at the  American Sign Museum and spent a couple of hours there. I arrived just as a tour was starting so I took that and now know more about signs then you care to know. They also rent space to a neon sign company, Neon Works Cincinnati , and we got a tour there also. Great place see and it sure beats shopping when you have some time to spare.

Drove to Florida in 1969 and saw this sign every where.

On that trip to Florida we stayed in HoJoMoLo-s all the time. They all had pools and we would stop around 4 PM to swim.HoJoMoLo(Howard Johnson Motor Lodge)

And we finish with a Mexican restaurant sign!

127 Pleasant Street, Portland, ME

I walk by this house all the time and enjoy what great shape it is in and how original it looks. It was just renovated in the past 5-10 years, I think. So I'm walking by with a new camera that I was testing out and I took this photograph of it. The entry way has clouds paint on it's ceiling!

The black and white image is from the 20/30s I would guess.

Custom House, Portland, ME

I shot the US Customs House in Portland, ME back in 2005 while I was out working on another project. I just was in the file looking for another image from that shoot and found these shots. Think they could be another homage to Thomas Connolly.

Lincolnville Cape

Off to Lincolnville, ME to photograph a greenhouse worker for Fresh magazine. I came across this beautiful yellow cape just waiting for spring to return. So hopeful on a cold sunny Maine winter day.

Vases from F.W. Woolworth

These vases were in the kitchen at the York show house I shot on Tuesday for Design New England. They remind me of flowers from my childhood, you know red roses with baby's breath!
